In the Jewish community, we remember our loved ones who have died by reciting Kaddish on the anniversaries (Yahrzeit — or year’s time) of their deaths. This custom is often done surrounded by members of the community who offer support and who might also be remembering dear friends or family members. On Friday, August 3 at 7PM we will have a Shabbat service. While we recite Kaddish on the Yahrzeits of our departed loved ones at every Shabbat service, I am hoping that if you are observing the Yahrzeit of a loved one during the Months of July or August, you will join us at this service to support one another. There is strength is numbers! If you are joining us, and the date of your loved one’s Yahrzeit is not August 3, just let me know before services begin and, if you wish, I will add the name to our Kaddish list.
I hope your summer is going well, and I look forward to seeing you on August 3rd!
